Our FARMING PRactices

Stella Moon Farm practices organic methods because we care about our environment and your health. Our practices will lead to becoming certified organic. We use no plastics, chemicals or pesticides during any of our farming practices.

All of our CBD and CBG plants are started from seed in our on-site greenhouse. We borrow our Amish neighbor’s transplanter to place each seedling at just the right spacing in our neat rows. Each plant gets a drink of water and is tucked firmly into the soil. During the growing season, we regularly weed and cultivate. At the peak of maturity, the flower is tested and then harvested and hung to dry in the darkened greenhouse. Natural drying preserves the terpenes and maximizes the CBD or CBG content. The smokable flower is cured in a temperature and humidity controlled room in our on-site tiny barn.  The flower that will be processed is taken down by hand and bucked off the stems in preparation for local processing in Lancaster County. Every process involves individual handling to allow for stringent quality control to ensure that we produce only premium, high-grade products.
